Connecting businesses, solutions, and opportunities across Japan, Israel and the United States.
I AM YOU
IMU Group is a Japan-based business development and market entry partner connecting companies across Japan, Israel, and the United States.
Our work falls into two core areas. First, as a Business Development Consultancy, we represent law firms, professional services firms, technology companies, and other overseas providers in Japan—identifying prospects, building relationships, opening doors, and helping convert opportunities into revenue.
Second, as a Market Entry Platform, we provide practical Japan-side operational support for companies that need more than introductions or advice. This can include local coordination, partner management, project execution, procurement, sales support, and acting as an on-the-ground operator.
Rather than stopping at strategy and generating leads, IMU helps overseas companies test, launch, operate, and grow in Japan without immediately needing to build a full local team or entity. Our multilingual team combines international perspective with local execution, with particular strength in the Japan–Israel–USA business corridor.
About the Founder
Isaku (Isaac) Uchiyama is the Founder and CEO of IMU Group. His professional and personal background spans all three markets. He spent approximately 25 years living in the United States, 18 years in Japan, and three years in Israel, giving him a firsthand understanding of the business cultures, networks, and ways of working across each country.
In the United States, Isaac began his professional career working with law firms and professional services organizations, developing experience in business development, marketing, client relations, and international relationship building. He also worked for an Israeli trading company in the United States, providing early exposure to the practical challenges and opportunities involved in connecting Israeli businesses with overseas markets.
In Japan, Isaac has built a career focused on cross-border business development, particularly within the legal and professional services sector. He has advised and supported leading Japanese and international law firms on business development, client strategy, communications, market positioning, and international relationship building, while developing an extensive network across Japan’s legal and business communities.
Through IMU, Isaac has expanded this work into technology, cybersecurity, tourism, real estate, education, and other cross-border ventures. He works with overseas companies both as a business development representative, helping them identify and develop customers and partnerships, and as a market entry partner, providing the Japan-side operational support required to launch and execute business locally.
Isaac is also actively involved in strengthening ties between Japan and Israel, working with Israeli companies and professional service firms, introducing Israeli technologies and services to Japanese organizations, and engaging with business, government, academic, and nonprofit stakeholders.
This combination of long-term experience in the United States, Japan, and Israel is at the heart of IMU’s positioning: connecting people, companies, services, and opportunities across three markets while providing the local relationships and practical execution needed to turn those connections into business.
